Dr. Cardone is Board-Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Phlebology. He is Fellowship trained in Diagnostic Ultrasound and holds special credentials from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT). He also holds special credentials with Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPS) and is a seasoned, well trained interventional Radiologist. His expertise includes the utilization of Laser and Radiofrequency ablation techniques, microphlebectomy and sclerotherapy in the treatment of varicose vein disease.

He studied general surgery at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, NJ and then completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, IL. In 1990 he moved to Milwaukee where he completed a Fellowship in US/CT/MRI at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  He was formerly the medical director of Radiology at both St. Francis and St. Michael’s Hospitals in Milwaukee.  He has also been owner and medical director of several diagnostic imaging facilities.

Today his passion is the diagnosis and treatment of varicose vein disease, which is why he opened Vena – the Varicose Vein Institute.
